Restoring Confidence: The 1979 Chevrolet Camaro

out for a drive learning the new setup.

At Apex Auto Restoration, we pride ourselves on providing top-tier craftsmanship, especially when tasked with fixing what others couldn't. One such case was a 1979 Chevrolet Camaro that came to us after a disappointing experience at another shop. The vehicle was in need of critical repairs to address a host of issues that had been poorly handled. Here's how we stepped in to restore the Camaro to its former glory:

  • Intake Manifold Replacement: The original dual-plane intake manifold was swapped out for a single-plane manifold to improve performance and efficiency. This upgrade required precision and attention to detail, ensuring optimal fit and functionality.
  • Ignition System Refresh: We installed a new set of spark plugs, ensuring reliable ignition and smoother engine performance. Additionally, a new O2 sensor and its wiring were added to ensure accurate air-fuel mixture readings for the vehicle's fuel system.
  • Wiring Repairs: The Camaro's wiring had been hacked together by the previous shop, leading to unreliable performance and potential safety hazards. Our team meticulously repaired and re-routed the wiring, restoring proper functionality and eliminating any risks.
  • Starter Replacement: A new starter was installed to address issues with inconsistent engine cranking, giving the Camaro reliable starting power.
  • Front Bumper Restoration: The front bumper, which had suffered from damage and a poor paint job, was repaired and repainted. This not only improved the car's aesthetics but also ensured structural integrity.
  • Engine Tuning and Calibration: We carefully adjusted the engine timing and recalibrated the tuning to make the motor run as it should. These adjustments brought the Camaro back to life, enhancing both performance and drivability.

Every repair and upgrade was performed with the utmost care, ensuring the Camaro was restored to a level that met both our high standards and the client’s expectations. The end result was a rejuvenated 1979 Chevrolet Camaro, ready to hit the road and turn heads once again.

At Apex Auto Restoration, we don't just fix cars; we restore confidence in your vehicle's performance and appearance. Have a project in need of expert care? Reach out to us today, and let’s bring your dream car to life.

The 1966 Pontiac GTO is an American classic—a symbol of power, style, and the golden era of muscle cars. At Apex Auto Restoration , we recently had the privilege of bringing this iconic car back to life. Its journey through our shop was a testament to the precision and passion that go into every project we undertake. The Challenge This particular GTO arrived at our shop in less-than-optimal condition. While the exterior still held the timeless charm of a classic, the mechanical systems told a different story. The braking system was nearly non-functional, a critical issue for both safety and performance. Additionally, the intake manifold showed significant wear, limiting the engine’s potential and leaving the car unable to deliver the performance its owner dreamed of.
